Patties

Pearsalls Surgical supplies sterile surgical patties (neurological swabs) to many major UK hospitals and distributors world-wide. Patties manufactured by Pearsalls Surgical combine the experience of processing textiles for over 200 years with the precision of modern equipment and the latest clean room environment. Pearsalls Surgical's Patties are used in a number of surgical procedures, primarily during:- Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic, Ophthalmic and Facio-maxillary surgery.

All of the following products are available with or without x-ray detectable strips.

Materials

Cotton

Cotton patties are the original patties. Many surgeons because of their softness, good drapability and excellent wicking properties prefer them.

Synthetic

Synthetic patties are made from a special blend of Viscose, polyamide and polypropylene. Synthetic patties enjoy the benefit of being stronger than cotton and of low adherence.

Telfa®

Telfa® patties are the latest product. They combine a special low abhorrence layer with a highly absorbent cotton body.

Telfa® is a registered trademark of Covidien.
